Integration options for high end Enterprise solutions

This is an Q & A Session to discuss the interface options available to connect multiple system (on multiple platforms) on a large enterprise. There were close to 150 different application on Mainframe, Windows and Unix platforms. We explored the following options to connect these apps

• Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) - Websphere MQ 5.3, Websphere Business Integrator / Message Broker 5.1

• Extract Transform Load (ETL) or Extract Load Transform (ELT) - Websphere DataStage 7.5, Mainframe tools (ex: BMC unloader), Terradata Fast Load,Seibel EIM, SQL Server BCP
• Custom UI Integration at presentation layers (i.e. : utilizing web services)
• Comma delimited files / Flat files, XML files
• Direct MQ flows form one enterprise to another enterprise
